COSMETOLOGY PDF Print E-mail
Our programme in Cosmetology offers the students a possibility to gain a broad interdisciplinary education in the field of modern cosmetology that includes the following subjects:

•    comprehensive general knowledge of cosmetology
•    knowledge of chosen areas of dermatology and aesthetic medicine
•    knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, cosmetic products and their ingredients, effects and methods of application, as well as of their production processes
•    medical knowledge (anatomy, physiology, toxicology and introduction to physiotherapy)
•    comprehensive knowledge of chemistry, including general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry
•    comprehensive knowledge of universal laws of physics and their application in cosmetology (biophysics)
•    ability to recognise medical conditions that would constitute counter indications against performing specific cosmetic treatments and procedures as well as conditions that would necessitate a cosmetologist’s cooperation with a dermatologist (applied physiology, dermatology)
•    knowledge of marketing, economy, management and labour organisation (marketing and advertising, introduction to business studies)
•    knowledge of aesthetics and the art of makeup

We would like to emphasise the practical dimension of all courses offered in our Cosmetology programme. Our students have an opportunity to gather valuable work experience, as the Academy cooperates with top-of-the-line beauty salons and cosmetic materials production companies (e.g Cognis, ISP, National Starch) as well as with cosmetics manufacturers (e.g. Avon Cosmetics Polska, Johnson & Johnson Bionantech, Dermika, Henkel Polska, Jadwiga, La Femme Cosmetics, Norel, Pollena Aroma, Sabell, Slandi, Supernowa). Many courses are accompanied by lab classes and hands-on workshops in state-of-the-art beauty salons.
After the first year of studies, Cosmetology students choose a specialisation for the following two years of the programme.
