ADDRESSEES
The addressees of our postgraduate programme in Spa and Wellness are people interested in Spa and wellness industry who hold a master’s degree or a vocational bachelor’s degree, and in particular people who plan to open beauty and body care establishments based on the holistic philosophy of the spa and wellness movement.

GOAL
The postgraduate Spa & Wellness programme is inspired by the holistic body care philosophy of the spa and wellness movement. Apart from a knowledge of cosmetics, the students also get familiar with complex body treatments offered in spa establishments and with the organisation and management of day spas and spa resorts. In the course of studies, the students will obtain a detailed knowledge of all branches of spa activity recommended by the ISPA (International SPA Professional Association).

Thanks to an interdisciplinary curriculum and the emphasis on practical skills, the graduates of our Spa & Wellness programme will be well qualified to enter lucrative careers as top managers and customer relations specialists in spa and wellness establishments including:

Psychology of customer relations
- characteristics of different personality types - the so-called “problem customer” - verbal and non-verbal communication techniques in customer relations
Psychology of stress
- the concept of Wellness - methods of diminishing stress
Spa and Wellness equipment
- safety rules for electric appliances – the EU requirements and guidelines - electrocution – first aid - massage equipment - hydrotherapy - electrotherapy - ultrasound equipment - cryotherapy - laser therapy - heat generating equipment - other spa and wellness equipment
Classic massage techniques
- introduction to classic massage - division of massage techniques according to function (cosmetic, relaxing and medical massage etc.) - division of massage techniques according to technique used
Alternative massage techniques:
- reflexology - Shiatsu - Ayurvedic massage - Ma-Uri massage - hot stones massage - Pantai Luar stamp massage - bamboo massage - Chinese cupping and massage
Movement therapy
- general concept of movement therapy and the effects of movement on the human body and its separate parts - modern western concepts of movement therapy (Pilates, aqua aerobic and others) - oriental and eastern therapies (yoga, Makko-Ho, Tai Chi and others)
Balneotherapy
- introduction to balneotherapy - bathing and healthcare - aerosol therapy - other climate therapy-related treatments
Aromatherapy
- history of aromatherapy - physiology and psychology of scent - essential oils – production and properties - discussion of properties of chosen oils - aromatherapy in cosmetics - aromatherapeutic treatments (incl. spa treatments) - legal regulations and product quality in aromatherapy
Dietetics and nutrition in Spa and Wellness establishments
- the principles of healthy eating - discussion of diets
CONDITIONS OF GRADUATION
Obtaining a pass grade from the final exam and submitting and defending a thesis. PROGRAMME ORGANISATION AND DURATION
DIPLOMA OF GRADUATION
Upon successful completion of the programme, the graduates obtain a Diploma of Graduation from a Graduate Programme at the Academy of Cosmetics and Health Care in Warsaw, pursuant to the relevant legal regulations. CONTACT INFORMATION
